At StoneBridge we are committed to seeing our community transformed by God. We invite you to join us in this process of personal and community transformation. God desires for you to look more and more like Jesus. God has created good works for you to do that will not only bring joy and fulfillment to your life, they will also bless those around you. God has called you to a place. He has planted you wherever you are to serve as an agent of love and transformation.
There are four key anchors that keep us tied to this vision. We believe as we grow in these things both personally and corporately we will see our city transformed:
Led by the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 – Since we live by the Spirit let us keep in step with the Spirit.
Our desire corporately and individually is to listen to God and then to do what He says. Simply, we want to be people who daily track with the Spirit in all areas of life.
Conformed into the image of Jesus. Romans 8.29 – For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son.
God’s desire is to make us as much like Jesus as possible before we die. Our character reflecting His character, our attitudes reflecting His attitudes, our outlook reflecting His outlook. We seek to cooperate with the Holy Spirit as He molds and shapes our hearts.
Doing the good works God has prepared for us to do. Ephesians 2:10 – For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Just like God created us, He also created a life for us to live. This life is called the will of God, our destiny, our calling, God’s plan/purpose for us- we call it ‘doing your deal.’ Each of us has a part to play in God’s larger work in our world and we want to first discover what that part is, and then begin to engage Him in doing those good works.
Finding our Marietta. Jeremiah 29.7 – Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the LORD for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. As a church, the particular place God has planted us is the Marietta Square. We see the Square as the political, religious, cultural, and social center of Marietta and we believe as God transforms the Square our entire community will be changed as well. Individually, you have a ‘Marietta’ as well and we want to see you being led by the Spirit, conformed into the image of Jesus and doing your deal in that particular place.
